OVERVIEW
What managed Azure means in practice
Most Azure problems are not build problems. The platform goes live, the project team moves on, and then nobody owns the alerts, the patches, the backups or the bill. Months later the environment has drifted: machines unpatched, backups untested, costs climbing and permissions broader than anyone intended.
Managed services close that gap. We take ownership of the day-to-day: watching the environment, acting on what it reports, keeping updates and backups on schedule, reviewing spend against what you actually use, and holding identity and security settings to an agreed baseline.
What we run is agreed in writing before we start, so you know exactly which subscriptions and resources are covered, what we act on ourselves and what we bring to you first. We can run an environment we built, one another partner built, or one that grew on its own.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
What we run for you
Scope is agreed per engagement and written down before we take over. A typical Azure managed service covers these four areas.
Monitoring and alerts
- Resource health and service issues watched during our working hours
- Alert rules tuned so real problems are not lost in noise
- Triage, investigation and action on what the environment reports
- Tickets, updates and escalation through our service desk
Updates, backup and recovery
- Operating system and agent updates for Azure virtual machines
- Backup jobs configured, monitored and corrected when they fail
- Restore tests so recovery is proven rather than assumed
- Change windows agreed with you before anything is applied
Cost and rightsizing
- Regular review of spend against what is actually used
- Idle, oversized and forgotten resources identified
- Budgets and cost alerts kept current
- Recommendations with the saving and the risk stated plainly
Identity and security baseline
- Entra ID roles, privileged access and guest accounts reviewed
- Microsoft Defender for Cloud recommendations tracked and worked through
- Policy and configuration drift reported and corrected
- Findings prioritised, with remediation agreed before changes are made
HOW WE DELIVER
A staged plan. No surprises.
01Assess: What exists and what matters
We review your subscriptions, workloads, current alerts, backup state, access model and spend, and agree which resources the service covers and how urgent issues reach you.
02Onboard: Access, tooling and baseline
Access is set up with least privilege, monitoring and alerting are tuned, backup and update schedules are agreed, and the starting security and cost baseline is documented so progress is measurable.
03Run: The day-to-day work
Alerts are triaged and acted on, updates and backups run to schedule, requests come through the service desk, and anything that needs your decision reaches you with a recommendation rather than just a warning.
04Review: Cost, security and what changes next
We meet on an agreed rhythm to go through incidents, security findings, cost trends and planned changes, so the environment keeps improving instead of drifting.
WHY REDTREESUPPORT
Why RedTreeSupport for Azure operations
- Microsoft authorised partner and reseller, so licensing, subscriptions and day-to-day operations come from one team.
- The same team designs Azure landing zones, so the people running your environment understand how it is built.
- Azure, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID looked after together, rather than split across separate suppliers.
- Our team works Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight) IST, which covers the business day in India, the Gulf, Europe, the UK and the US morning.
AZURE MANAGED FAQ
Common questions about Azure managed services & cloud operations.
What is included in Azure managed services?
Monitoring and alert response, updates for Azure virtual machines, backup monitoring and restore testing, cost review and rightsizing, and upkeep of the identity and security baseline. The exact resources covered are agreed and written down before the service starts.
Can you manage an Azure environment you did not build?
Yes. We start with an assessment of what exists, agree what needs correcting before we take it on, and then run it. Anything we think should change is raised with the reason and the risk, not changed quietly.
What hours is the service covered?
Our team works Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight) IST. That covers the working day across India, the Gulf, Europe and the UK, and the morning on the US East Coast. Coverage outside those hours is agreed per engagement.
How is Azure managed service priced?
Pricing depends on the size of the environment, which resources are covered and how much of the work we handle directly. Azure consumption is billed separately by Microsoft. We give a written scope and price after the assessment.
Who owns the Azure subscription and the data?
You do. We work inside your tenant with the access the service needs, and that access can be withdrawn at any time. Nothing is locked to us.
Can you work alongside our in-house IT team?
Yes. We agree who owns what: a common split is that we handle monitoring, patching, backup and routine requests, while your team keeps the applications and the roadmap. Escalation paths are written down so nothing sits between the two teams.
